Notes:
Petrônio Bendito’s E-Fetish, from the series “Technology Side Effects” was created using Macromedia Flash.
Software programs are object-oriented, automatically producing the scripts that will control actions and appearance on the internet.
Each method (script, programming language, software) results in a production of a set of textual commands invisible to the viewer/user.
As in a theater setting, the viewer/user watches a performance played out by actors (visually manifest individuals or objects) based on a script (which controls the action and physically exists, although it is not literally visible).
