REALISM TO POSTMODERNISM SLIDE LIST

Slide list/Lecture outline Key for slides: L = Lucie-Smith, Visual Arts of the 20th Century H = Hughes, Shock of the New A = Arnason, History of Modern Art, 4th edition F = Fineberg, Art Since 1940

Material will be covered in the listed order. Depending on how crunched for time we are, we may skip over some of these slides. I recommend that you number the slide list each day and use it to organize your notes as we go along. A review carousel (found in the art office) will contain a representative selection of slides to cover major issues and ideas, do not assume that only those slides found in the carousel will be on the test. Tests for this course will also include "unknowns," so the best way to prepare is to look at slides as "representative" of a style and/or theory. The tests in this course are not cumulative. Slides not found in one of the books or in the review carousel will not be on the exams, but may be referred to for comparison purposes.
